蘇慧倫昨天宣布將在今年八月發行出道30週年的精選輯。縱觀她的歌手生涯，唸華岡藝校的時候被柯一正介紹去唱片公司試音（順帶一提，柯導的最後一部長片《藍月》女主角正是她），二十歲發行第一張專輯，二十四歲進滾石唱片，在她唱了這首〈Lemon Tree〉之前，已經出了十張專輯被定型成玉女歌手了。
第十一張專輯《Lemon Tree》，也一直被稱作是「變身三部曲」的第一部，但這首改編自德國樂團Fools Garden的同名歌曲〈Lemon Tree〉，這首詞是許常德誤打誤撞寫出來的。
當時許常德去滾石唱片開會，是因為滾石唱片的老闆段鍾沂覺得這首〈Lemon Tree〉會中，所以在討論要怎麼弄這張專輯，開會開到一半，當時滾石的總監陳勇志便敲門進來說這首歌的編曲好了，可以填詞了，但時間很緊迫，明天就要交了，老闆現場一看「啊就你來寫啊」，於是，許常德臨危受命，即便他從來沒看過檸檬樹，然後也聽不懂原曲的英文歌詞在唱什麼。
許常德說，那個時候拿到Demo，已經半夜一點多了，開完會回到家就已經三點了，但他隔天早上還要去上班，所以時間是緊迫中的緊迫。所以他就只想著，反正我只有一點點時間啦，不要想太多了，「有就有，沒有就算了」，所以這首〈Lemon Tree〉是他寫詞生涯裡最隨意的作品，從來沒有一首詞是他想到哪寫到哪，而現在仔細一看，這真的是首跟檸檬樹其實沒啥關係的女子視角內心碎碎念歌詞：
一個人孤單單的下午
當風吹得每棵樹都想跳舞
記得昨天你穿藍色衣服
你說對愛太專注容易孤獨

我不清楚
他想也沒想就直接交卷了，當時滾石企劃部的人還跑來跟他說李宗盛大哥的幹譙：「這歌詞在填什麼？上面這句跟下面這句沒什麼關連啊！」
But，就是這個But，當時蘇慧倫去宣傳這張《Lemon Tree》的第一個通告是跑校園場，許常德也在旁邊跟，他想說，第一場就唱新歌吼，連MV都還沒出，學生怎麼會有反應喇，但是他錯了。
雖然那一場也有唱她前十張專輯裡的舊歌，但是〈Lemon Tree〉一播，許常德說是「當天最轟動的一首歌」，他也嚇一跳，這樣的誤打誤撞變成蘇慧倫的代表作之一，有了〈Lemon Tree〉才有後面的〈鴨子〉跟〈傻瓜〉，也終於在這第十一張專輯，再度翻紅奠定了她的名氣，直至這現今的三十週年。

How come Yahweh (the pre-incarnate Christ) never told Adam about the tree of life in all the times they walked together in the Garden of Eden?
“They heard Yahweh God’s voice walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of Yahweh God among the trees of the garden.” (Genesis 3:8 WEB)
I believe it was because Adam never really asked for Yahweh’s advice or wisdom.
When we spend time in God’s presence, meditating on truths in His word, praying in tongues, or just asking Him questions, revelations come to us from the Holy Spirit.
Those who don’t take the time to do this don’t experience these sweet moments as much.
If Adam had just asked Yahweh, “Lord, which tree should I eat from that’s good for me? There are so many here. I don’t which to choose first,” perhaps he wouldn’t have died.
We cannot just see our relationship with God as Master to servant. That causes us to only passively take instructions without spending time in sweet conversation.
When you linger longer at the Throne of Grace instead of dashing off after quickly uttering your prayer requests, God imparts His secrets to you—reserved for those who want it.
“because they hated knowledge, and didn’t choose the fear of Yahweh. They wanted none of my counsel. They despised all my reproof. Therefore they will eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own schemes. For the backsliding of the simple will kill them. The careless ease of fools will destroy them. But whoever listens to me will dwell securely, and will be at ease, without fear of harm.”” (Proverbs 1:29-33 WEB)
If you apply the passage above to Adam’s case, you’ll see something special.
Adam chose to eat the fruit of his own way—although he did that for Eve’s sake, he still rebelled against God and ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Why didn’t Adam know about the tree of life? Because he hated knowledge and wanted none of Yahweh’s counsel.
Therefore he was killed by his own foolishness in despising godly knowledge.
Everything must be done in its proper order.
We need to eat from the tree of life first and receive eternal life by placing our faith in Jesus.
Once we have that, we can then partake of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil to know about the difference between good and evil and be empowered to live holy like God.
“Yahweh God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand, and also take of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever...”” (Genesis 3:22 WEB)
Without the immortal divine nature, you cannot live holy.
The good news is, your spirit has been reborn to have the same divine nature as God.
Although your sinful flesh (your body) still has lustful cravings and impulses, you can choose to listen to the new desires of your spirit instead of the cravings of the flesh.
We may make mistakes at times and fall into temptation, but as we grow to be led by the Holy Spirit inside our spirit instead of just being driven by the flesh, we will sin less and less, having more power to bring the flesh to submission.
Remember, you are not your body—you are the righteous spirit living inside the mortal body!
