Since couple dates are not possible for us for now, we didn't manage to catch a movie or go for a nice dinner to celebrate Valentine's Day. Also, gifts of love has never been my love language and if the hubby spends his hard earned money on flowers, chocolates or bears, I will tell him not to do it again and that I would rather have a handwritten card or for us to spend the money on more practical stuff (think milk and diapers).
So our Vday date was a very special one this year because at 1am during the weekend, we were out shopping for steamboat ingredients in Sheng Shiong with a sleeping baby snug on his chest. Yup. While filling up our trolley with meat, seafood, veggies and fruits, it dawned on me on why I chose to marry this guy.
His generosity (be it towards his friends or mine), his willingness to carry, bathe and change the baby (if the baby allows), his way of sacrificing (can you see the eye bags), his kind and big heart despite the stern and sometimes stoic exterior (his job needs him to be tough).
While he might often be sailing or working late, I hope we will always cherish the time we get to spend together, be it as a couple or as a family. And yesh, a date in the supermarket is totally an awesome idea. Happy Valentine's Day! #ahappymum #valentinesday #vday #onadate #loveyou
