Hello everyone. While I’ve been really fine during the #quarantine festival, my extroverted friend @drjasonleong is going nuts. So today I’ve scheduled a chat with him later at 5pm (GMT+8) on IG Live. @kuahjenhan @drjasonleong
If you’re familiar with our work, Jason and I are on very different ends of the spectrum in terms of how we work and what we’re like. Jason is steadfastly vocal and I’m correct. But in each other we find things that help us individually be better at what we do and that’s how Jason and I produced the biggest comedy tour (out of Malaysia) last year, MACC (Malaysian Association of Chinese Comedians)’s Goodbye Tour, MACC MANIA X.
I plan to chat to him about how we’re different, how we write, and maybe run and workshop some jokes.

I’ve always considered myself lucky that I’ve never particularly had an addictive personality. Social media is a huge part of our lives and no doubt majority of us are addicted to it. Sometimes I feel like I’m born in the wrong era because I’ve never been a huge fan of technology or social media. I think “what should I put for my caption???” is my worst Instagram fear. Although I love being in the industry I’m in, I can’t lie that I do miss those days where Instagram didn’t exist and where we didn’t constantly compare our “followings” and “likes”. (PS: if you don’t remember the time when there was no Instagram then you’re too young 😂 or I’m too old?? 🤔)

Time to time I like to detached myself from social media and go ghost-mode. I remember a long time ago a friend of mine called me the nickname “loner” once and she didn’t understand why or how I loved spending time with no one but myself, me and I. I LOVE & find it EXTREMELY therapeutic for my SOUL to detach myself from not only social media, drama, but also, PEOPLE. For me to actually have some quality time to read, think or plan or even sometimes, do absolutely nothing. I’m sure im not the only one and a lot of people can relate...

So that’s why I’ve been off social media this whole Chinese New Year holiday and chose to give all my attention to only my loved ones. I had such a great holiday being with my sisters and laughed so hard with my grandmother over a stupid joke, I’m glad I’ve gained some priceless memories with everyone. Unfortunately the holiday is over and sad to leave my family. So here is me saying hello again, social media 👋🏼 Though I’m not a huge fan of social media, I have missed my work and I do love what I do. Lastly, hope you all had a great Chinese New Year! Gong Hei Fat Choi!

Hi! My name is Loretta, a girl from the U.S. who moved to Japan! I'm here on the MEXT scholarship program as a graduate student, studying to get a Masters in Business Administration. Here are some answers to common questions:
