Checking out of our hotel today as we head to another district.
The documentary we are filming is about us going to discriminated areas and population. These are the locations that we may not make as our next holiday destinations because of its inaccessibility and an extremely high language barrier.
So far the locations we have made to : An insurmountable school high up in the mountains that will take 10 hours to reach by the villagers, one of the villages of the Karen tribe on the steep, dangerous mountain sides just supported by wooden stilts and a rural NGO office by Santipong who gives help to oppressed children, women and men.
Today we are going to the most primitive village of the Karen tribe. So rural that it is not even accessible by roads. We are not only just visiting and filming but we are staying for the night.
I am very thankful for this experience and opportunity. These are places I couldn't have reached on my own but this team lead by Kok Hong has managed to arrange and secure wonderful locals who went out of their way to help us so that we can capture their stories and in return we share it with the world.
