│《The Godfather 教父》導演 Coppola 將賭上億美金家當開拍自己的夢想之作 《Megalopolis 大都會》│

• 82歲的《The Godfather 教父》導演 Francis Ford Coppola 日前接受媒體 Deadline 訪問時，表示他已經準備好在明年開拍他籌備超過40年的夢想之作 《Megalopolis 大都會》。由於向來與好萊塢片廠疏遠的他始終無法得到資金挹注，他已經決定將自己事業第二春——柯波拉酒莊賺到積蓄全部拿來投資這部電影，獨力扛起超過上億美金的製作成本。

• 2001年 Coppola 在坎城影展宣布啟動他從1980年代就開始寫的科幻史詩，描繪一個偉大的建築師如何在紐約經濟崩潰之後，重新將這個城市打造為烏托邦之城。Coppola 當時已經投入大量經費拍攝部分特效畫面，藉以用來說服更多投資人加入這個製作。那時候的卡司已經包含 Robert De Niro 和 Coppola 的侄子 Nicolas Cage 兩位好萊塢一線明星。遺憾幾個月後就撞上了911事件，讓該案立刻進入撞牆期，因為911之後誰還有心情想看一部關於紐約變成大廢墟的災難片。這部片長預估超過三小時、成本高達一億美元的製作還沒開拍就胎死腹中，成為電影圈地下瘋傳、和庫柏力克的拿破崙電影並列為「最偉大的未拍成電影」。

• 這一次重啟製作， Coppola 已經開出洋洋灑灑陣容包含 Oscar Isaac、Forest Whitaker、Cate Blanchett、Jon Voight、Zendaya、Michelle Pfeiffer 和 Jessica Lange。雖然這些卡司並非全然談定，有的還只是導演自己預設的人選，然而這世界上哪有演員會拒絕電影教父本人提出的無法拒絕的要約。

• 專訪刊出之後，英國衛報和網路媒體 Screenrant 的反應都是一樣的。他們分別評論道《大都會》募不到錢，反映了好萊塢片廠的失能。因為整個產業發了瘋似地追求續集電影宇宙和既有知名IP，以致於全好萊塢只剩下 Christopher Nolan 一個人能拍新的故事，其餘的人凡是拿不出知名 IP 就沒片可拍。不論你是 Martin Scorsese 還是 Michael Bay 都逃不過這個遊戲規則。

1988年 Coppola 的門生 George Lucas 在師父又因為拍電影賠光家產的時候跳出來替 Coppola 的新片 《Tucker: The Man and His Dream 塔克：其人其夢》掛名當製片（因為星戰之父更容易吸引投資人）。這對師徒/導演製片搭檔在洛杉磯時報記者專訪中一搭一唱地討論一個假設性問題——「如果有人給你20億美元你會拿來做什麼？」

身為電影史上因為投資單一一部電影獲得最多利潤的超級投資人 ，George Lucas 非常冷靜地說他會把10億拿去投資，然後用另外10億去興建一個小鎮。

而人生破產過無數次的 Coppola則說：「我會想辦法用這20億的資本再去銀行搞個300億，然後用來做一件大事。也許是蓋一個真正行得通的城市。我去參觀過巴西利亞，也讀過很多關於那個城市的有趣分析。我們眼前都是一些沒有生命、龐然大物的建築。沒有任何東西是為了活人蓋的。一個城市應該要以人為本。」

Lucas 笑著說：「Francis，然後它就會整個瓦解，而這一次你就會真的搞到破產變成一無所有。」

Coppola：「也許會，但也許不會。」

看出來了嗎？Coppola根本就是他的《大都會故事》中野心勃勃地想要拯救全世界的建築師。

Jesus Understands your Suffering

“For we don’t have a high priest who can’t be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need.” (Hebrews‬ ‭4:15-16‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

When going through hard times, some people like to say, “I understand what you are going through.” However, most of the time, they do not really know. They are just saying it to be nice and polite.

On the other hand, Jesus know what you are going through.

His head was pierced with a crown of thorns. He was stripped, humiliated, spat on, had His beard pulled, beaten with stripes, crucified, laden with the sins and sicknesses of the world, and burnt with the fiery wrath of God.

No other man will go through worse suffering than Jesus.

The God-Man Jesus knows what you are going through. He became a “man of sorrows” on the day of His crucifixion.

Jesus knows firsthand how difficult life can be on earth. That is one reason why you can confidently ask God for mercy and Grace in every situation.

Draw near to God’s throne—He will never rebuke you or cast you aside.

In your time of need, He will gladly provide the supply.

God is free to be good to you because Jesus paid for you to be made righteous through His shed blood!
