how to run a panel discussion 在 Azizulhasni Awang Facebook 的精選貼文
Topic Azizul’s keirin disqualification
This is my view of the race and I would urge people to watch the footage and make your own mind up. If it is not clear to you on normal speed, please watch the footage in slow motion and see what you think then.
I will have attached race footage of what Azizulhasni Awang was disqualified for by UCI commissaries.
Matt Glaetzer rode straight into Azizul’s arm and crashed, how is this a fault of Azizul’s, just because Matt crashed these officials had to look for someone to blame. This was just a racing incident and I wonder if the same discussion would have been made if it were another rider in a different skinsuit? One can only wonder.
The second semi final there was another really bad inconsistent decision dealt to Simon Van Velthooven, the UCI inconsistency continued when these people stopped the race and deemed him to have past the back wheel of the motorbike. This incident Simon did overlapped the motorbike’s back wheel slightly in seeing if Azizul would let him have the position of first rider behind the motorbike once it was apparent that Azizul was not going to give up his place behind the motorbike. Simon was on his way to the back of the field when the official stopped the race and pulled him from the race, this decision was so stupid as it had did not have any bearing on the outcome of the race what so ever.
In the first round of competition there was an incident where Fabian Hernando Puerta Zapata clearly passed the motorbike clearly before the motorbike pulled from the track and the UCI commissaries turned a bind eye to this incident which had a huge bearing on the outcome on the race. How is it that Simon got disqualified and Fabian did not at the same race meeting, what is going on?
UCI
Have a lot to answer for as to extremely poor adjudication of the keirin race rules in this season my issues are as follows.
We as coaches and athletes have had to put up with massive inconsistencies this season as the UCI have employed three different chief commissaries along with their panels for each of the three world cup classics, and everyone of them has had a different interpretation or should I say adjudication of the UCI’s own rule book which is extremely frustrating.
Then in the UCI’s wisdom we turn up to the UCI world track championships in Cali Columbia, this season’s pinnacle event and low and behold we have another lot of commissaries and once more with a huge difference in adjudication of what has been aloud and what has been pulled up all season.
If this is not bad enough the UCI has taken away everybody’s natural justice, that is one’s right to appeal their decision whereas in life does this occur other than a communist country, please someone correct me if I am wrong though surely in this day and age you have a right to fight for your own innocence, though apparently not in the world of UCI track cycling.
More UCI inconsistencies
We turned up to the managers meeting at these world championships in Cali Columbia 2014 only to find out during the meeting they have enforced a rule they said has been in place for the passed two years that you could not where rubberized racing gloves because of an aero dynamic advantage, now these gloves are used by 90% of the sprint track cycling fraternity, because one everybody can afford them and everybody can gain access to this product, I guess that is just cause to ban the product.
Though how about the German and Great Britten bikes and space age handle bars, no one can gain access to these products and they are not commercially available, come on UCI.
More UCI technical commission bureaucracy
The UCI have a rule stating that every bike must be commercially available in order to use that piece of equipment, that is a good rule except how is it that the British and the German teams both race on bikes that are not commercially available. Now while I am at it, both the same teams also have a massive advantage with there aerodynamic one piece extremely expensive aero wing shaped handle bars that once more are not available commercially available and they are worrying about a pair of gloves that cost $20.00 dollars.
Who are they trying to kid?
They want us to respect this people but I would have to say it is getting quite hard to do.
Now I am not about bashing commissaries as we need them to run our great sport, I just want them to become more professional and understand that poor inconsistent adjudication at the top level in any sport should not be tolerated.
Quick fix to all of this would be as follows
UCI to appoint the same panel of commissaries to each of the 3 world cups and concluding with the world track cycling championships each season, that way at least we would have consistent adjudication for the season. Is that not too hard to ask?
Then there is the question of the people who are on the UCI technical commission, who are these people? and can they be trusted with making the right decisions when they make such stupid rule changes for what they say is for the betterment of the sport, an evening up a potential uneven advantage, banning such things as gloves that every one can afford and every one has access too. Though allowing supper high technology to the supper powers of our sport and not making it commercially available to anybody. What are these guys up too?
Now its time to sleep as its 2am in the morning and we have three more days of racing to come.
