It's hard to believe that my firstborn will be sitting for her PSLE papers in a couple of months' time. In fact, her oral exams begin this week. Yup, time flies!

I wish I had more one-on-one time to spend on revision with her but given how the baby keeps me busy all the time, it is really tough. Besides, some of the P6 concepts, especially Science, are too hard for me to comprehend or teach already. That means the girl has learnt to become more independent in her studies, which might not be a bad thing, right?

While we are still on the tuition-free route, we take the opportunity to learn whenever we can and for now, e-learning platforms which enable us to learn while staying home is something we would advocate. We have heard good reviews about Geniebook, an online suite of personalised learning innovations powered by Artificial Intelligence, and were excited to try out their 2-weeks GenieClass trial.

The girl attended some of the live online classes - GenieClass, including English, Math and Science, and enjoyed them thoroughly. Besides helping to recap some of the topics she has learnt in school, she also participated in quizzes and class chats which she found to be interesting and helpful.

We got to see and have a feel of how the teachers conducted these online classes and they were generally engaging and enthusiastic, which made the lessons fun and worth looking forward to.

In addition to GenieClass, Geniebook subscribers will soon get to use GenieAsk, which is a real-time teacher chat and a convenient way for students to ask questions they may have from school. Then there is the product they’re most famous for, their GenieSmart. These are AI personalised worksheets which draw from a library of over 150,000 questions aligned to MOE’s syllabus to identify academic strengths and weaknesses. And what I love as a parent most, you’ll have access to real-time progress reports of how your child is doing!

While PSLE might be a major milestone for her, instead of being stressed out by exams, I earnestly hope she will always find joy in learning. We've got this, dear Angel!

Pain + Reflect = Progress

Half of 2021 is gone. Reflecting back to what I had done in the first half of the year, I made some right decisions and I failed to execute some of my plans that I should have done it when I can at that point of time. It was a painful moment when it's getting even tougher to execute those plan right now. Nevertheless, I still have faith on it and I will never give up on those plans.

On a side note:
Many of us felt regretted on not making the move, the change, and don't dare to take the risk as we hope things will eventually better in the end and believe that we can or could still get back to normal.

But things have changed, and it will never be the same after this. We have to live with it and to build an infinite mindset that survive is the key now.

The most important thing in life is to have a healthy body, to have enough food on the table everyday, have a shelter and to have a happy life together with our family members.

The other things that we can do right now is to support each other. Give a helping hand to those less fortunate and spread positivity to the community that we will survive through this.

We need to have the belief and faith that humanity are kind and helpful. Talk to friends and family members when there is a need. Do not give up. Do no commit suicide.

Life gets tough no matter how much we prepare. Things beyond our control, unexpected obstacles and hardships happen all the time, but together, we can always get through them.

If things don’t go as planned, it doesn’t mean you have failed. As long as you get up and try again, you will eventually achieve it. Stay strong to all Malaysian including myself.

Finally, 400K Subscribers. It's been a long way! We're really sorry we couldn't celebrate by doing recital, concert or fans event due to the coronavirus issues. Still, we prepared this special video for you, hope you like it.

I've played them a lot at live streaming, but I rarely do videos for Studio Ghibli Animations. Not because I don't like it, it's just because there were too many covers already on YouTube. So I think this time it's a good opportunity to make it a medley with a different style of video, adding some words I'd like to say to you, hope you like this video.

As many of you might know, maybe it's the change of time, or change of the algorithm, change of YouTube, musicians on YouTube lives much harder than 4 or 5 years ago. We all have to find another way out to keep living. So in the past few month we've been working on streaming platforms, digital albums, and now is the Patreon. It would be really helpful that fans support us with those platforms IF you're able and willing to.

And just to be clear, I won't quit doing music videos even if it keep going worse, because doing these things including performing, recording and editing is one of my personal interest, that's why I started all this in the first place, and that's something never change.
