AIT has resumed our EducationUSA outreach after Lunar New Year! Our Cultural Affairs Officer Martin Luke visited New Taipei City’s Yuteh Private International School this week to meet students and share some information on U.S. education. Luke also brought some valuable books on American travel and literature to Yuteh as gifts. Around 200 students, from Grade 7th to 12th grades, attended the discussion and raised a number of interesting questions.

Did you know there are growing need for Mandarin teachers in the United States in recent years? Building Taiwan to be one of the most important destinations in the world for foreigners to learn Chinese language is one of the goals of U.S.-Taiwan Education Initiative. The U.S. government also increased the annual allocation of the Fulbright funding to support U.S.-Taiwan exchanges and facilitate Taiwan’s Chinese language education. At the “Teaching Chinese as a Second Language Symposium” today, AIT Deputy Director Raymond Greene joined a panel discussion to discuss ways of supporting Taiwan’s Chinese language education at international level and introduced the U.S. government sponsored Chinese language exchange programs. U.S. and Taiwan will continue work together to identify potential steps to enhance Taiwan’s critical role in providing Chinese instruction both to Americans and to people around the world. 楊薩總理政治經驗豐富，已經第3️⃣度擔任斯國總理，過去也3️⃣度訪問台灣，對台灣人民的友善及醫療體系管理印象深刻 。

You might be familiar with #xiaolongbao, #jiaozi and #baozi, which are all popular #dumplings in #Taiwan, but what about their Slovenian cousins, #KozjanskiKrapi, #GluhiŠtruklji and #AjdoviKrapi? Although they’re very different in constitution, they’ll all delicious!

And it’s not just love of dumplings that #Taiwan and #Slovenia have in common, we also share concerns for #PublicHealth, #PandemicPrevention and #VaccineDevelopment, all of which were topics of discussion during a video conference between Slovenian Prime Minister and Health Minister Janez Janša and Taiwanese Health Minister Chen Shih-chung yesterday. The video conference demonstrates the strength of Taiwan-Slovenia relations and exchange!

Prime Minister Janša thanked Taiwan for donations of medical supplies, mentioned how the late Slovenian Dr Janez Janež, who practiced medicine for over 40 years in Luodong in northeastern Taiwan, served as a model for medical cooperation and friendship between the two countries and praised Taiwan’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

For his part, Minister Chen thanked the Slovenian government for their support of Taiwan’s participation in the #WorldHealthAssembly and reasserted the notion that #PandemicPreventionKnowsNoBorders.

中川奈美《竈門炭治郎之歌》小提琴版本 | Violin【Cover by An】

鬼滅之刃劇場版在日本上映才一個週末就成為日本2020最高票房的電影，甚至打敗冰雪奇緣2，是疫情之下的票房奇蹟，我的cover就送了3首（冰雪還只有2首！）

先不管大家對爆紅原因討論，我也不想爆雷劇情，但在劇場版中，我發現一些比較重要的地方會刻意插入一小段過場，稍微吊一下觀眾的胃口，也提升後續的張力漫畫主角，配樂也是這麽搭配！當配樂激起觀眾的情緒到高點時，一樣會先暫停，留了一小段空白，直到某個段落才接續下去，讓先暫緩的情緒再一次爆發。

在日本台灣還是國外都引起一片轟動的第19集中出現的這首專屬於主角的歌，理論上該是最澎湃熱血的橋段，反而選用延續溫柔得令人想哭的歌曲，讓人因為感動使情緒又堆上好幾層，真的不知道重刷了多少遍，還是讚嘆插曲和劇情起伏配合如此完美。
真的是一部非常有趣的作品，我都拉了3首cover，好作品不看嗎！！

Right after the release of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train, it became the most popular movie in Japan in 2020 within a weekend (even got more views than Frozen 2).
Love from fans definitely says my reasons for making three cover songs for this animation.

Let's put aside the discussion about the reasons for the popularity, and it's def okay if you haven't watched it (but strongly recommend!!!) You can still feel the sadness even through the the melody, and I think it really completed the movie/animation and it is what a great theme song should be like.
