เป็นอีกครั้งที่ต้องบอกว่า Gene Lab อุดมไปด้วยศิลปินมากความสามารถที่มาพร้อมแนวเพลงที่มีเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะตัว ถ้าใครได้ฟังเพลงของค่ายนี้มาบ้างจะเห็นว่าทุก ๆ วงล้วนมีความโดดเด่นและแนวทางดนตรีที่ค่อนข้างชัดเจน และ Only Monday Band วง Indie Rock น้องใหม่ (สมาชิกวงประกอบไปด้วย ธีร์: นักร้องนำ/กีตาร์, โปรด: มือเบส, เฟรม: กลอง) ของค่ายนี้เองก็เช่นเดียวกันครับ
Only Monday ผ่านการออดิชั่นในโปรเจกต์ GMM Audition ของแกรมมี่เมื่อปลายปีที่ผ่านมา ซึ่งล่าสุดพวกเขาก็มีซิงเกิ้ลแรกของตัวเองแล้วในชื่อ "สองมาตรฐาน" เพลงจังหะมันส์ ๆ ชวนโยกหัว ที่มาพร้อมความหมายชวนจุก
ความหมายของเพลงนี้ให้ความรู้สึกเหมือนกับเรากำลังฟังเพลง "น้ำลาย" ผสมกับ "ใส่ร้ายป้ายสี" (Clash) ผ่านมุมมองของตัววง Only Monday ว่าด้วยเรื่องการโดนตัดสินด้วยความไม่เป็นธรรม การกระทำแบบเดียวกัน A กลับโดนมองว่าผิด ในขณะที่ B ทำกลับกลายเป็นเรื่องที่ถูก ผลที่ตามมาคือ พอ A ถูกคน ๆ หนึ่งตัดสินด้วยมาตรฐานของคน ๆ หนึ่งไปแล้ว มักจะมีคนจำนวนหนึ่งไม่ฟังเหตุผลใด ๆ แล้วมอง A เป็นคนไม่ดีตามไปด้วย
แต่จริง ๆ ถ้าใครอยากจะมองนี้ในเชิงของเพลงอกหักก็ได้อยู่นะ ส่วนตัวแล้วรู้สึกว่า หลาย ๆ เพลงที่ใช้คำสรรพนามเป็นกลางอย่างคำว่า "เธอ" มันก็จะให้ความหมายเป็นกลางตามไปด้วย อย่างเช่นเพลงนี้ ก็อาจมองในมุมรักสามเส้าได้ เพราะคนไม่ใช่ทำอะไรก็ผิด... แต่คนที่ใช่ยังไงก็ถูกตามมาตรฐานของเธอ.. จริงไหม?
ไม่ว่าจะตีความเพลงนี้ไปทางไหน แต่ซิงเกิ้ลแรกออกมาไม่ธรรมดาแบบนี้ทำให้ Only Monday เป็นวงน้องใหม่ที่น่าจับตามองไม่น้อยเลยครับ ยิ่งไปกว่านั้น เป็นที่น่าสนใจมาก ๆ ว่าวงน้องใหม่ของ Gene Lab วงต่อ ๆ ไปจะมาแนวทางไหนอีกนะ?
