3 years ago, I would never have been able to post this photo on the internet. Even last year, I was still mostly smiling with my mouth closed, making sure every photo was taken from my left side, or editing my teeth as much as I could before showing anyone my photos, especially selfies.

I'd always wanted braces, but growing up, I couldn't afford them, and by the time I could, I was doing a job that would be hindered if I got them. (Also I was terrified of extracting my teeth, and every dentist I'd seen said I'd have to extract 4).
In 2017, I suddenly got reconnected with an old school friend, who had just opened her own dental clinic (Beverly Dentistree Dental Clinic ). I told her my woes, had a consultation, and voila! Solution found: Invisalign! No extraction needed, I could take them out whenever I was working, and no one ever had to know!
Tbh, til this day no one has mentioned the change, but if you swipe left, you'll see a selfie of mine from 2017, and see how much my world has changed for the better.

My teeth were always my biggest insecurity; now I can focus on my others.

Now I love my smile, and it makes me so much more confident! So if you're thinking of getting braces, I say go for it, and I promise it'll be the best decision you make ❤️

Dr Tiew did some ‘repair works’ on my teeth and I had the ‘electronic mould’ of my teeth done!

This machine is the first ever in Malaysia & it’s available at White Dental. It scans your entire teeth quickly & more accurately as compared to the old mould which takes 6-8weeks.
We can then adjust each tooth on the system to create a smile we want before deciding if we need extraction. And we can see our final look after the Invisalign treatment on the 1st day itself!

Teeth extraction is always everyone's nightmare and this time I need to extract 4 teeth top and bottom for the refinement of my Invisalign as I wish my teeth can be aligned more inward. So yeh! Thank god to the latest ICT syringe that reduced so much pain that I though I'd have to experience, phewww!

Optimistically thinking, the only good thing about me having root resorption (牙根吸收) is that I can provide everyone with an insight on my bad orthodontic treatment experience. This way, those of you who are considering getting braces or Invisalign can take root resorption into consideration (as well as other potential complications).

I've had my braces on for slightly under 3 years and have recently (and finally) taken them off. Here's a quick video on how my braces journey went, and about the retainers which I am now wearing (which is torturing me). My teeth were very possibly one of the messiest sets I've ever seen and I was really glad it took less than the 3 years my orthodontist initially estimated it for. If possible, I will be doing a follow up video regarding my retainers and post-braces.

Please pardon my bad articulation and my spams of "um"s, it's my first time talking to my camera!
