"Late last year, I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. I went through the darkest time in my life filled with fear and was depressed. I blamed myself for not going to get checked by the doctor sooner.
During this time, I listened to Pastor Prince’s broadcasts and messages constantly. I meditated on his teachings, which brought peace and then provision. I also partook of the holy Communion daily.
When my insurance company heard that I had cancer, they informed me that I was under investigation for fraud by pre-existing condition. I was determined to not worry about it and anointed the letters I received from the insurance company. I told the Lord that it was His problem to handle.
One day, I saw that a payment had been made on my medical bills. I called my insurance company and they informed me that they had cleared me of fraud. They had also begun paying tens of thousands of dollars in medical bills for me!
I had a sweet moment of joy with the Lord in my kitchen where I thanked Him with tears of joy and laughter for all He had done for me. There are so many good things that came about as a result of the diagnosis, but to keep it short, I am alive, well, and cancer-free!
Thank you, Pastor Prince, for teaching me that I am the righteousness of God in Christ and therefore blessed."

Happy Birthday, dearest Mummy! Look at you, on the cover of a magazine - how many other women could dream of being a covergirl at 64? 😍
This is the woman who would outdance all the young girls in her church, who would be in the front line in performances with her ribbons and tamborine.
Who insisted she was fit enough to travel all over the world whilst fighting Stage 4 Cancer.
Who helped babysit my very active kids, whilst I was busy trying to be an entrepreneur-actress-mum-politician’s wife for years.
When I won my first Best Actress award, Mum said to me, ”You worked damn hard to deserve this, and you did this on your own. I’m so proud of you.” That made EVERYTHING worth it.
At the 2004 Malaysian Fim Festival, Puteri Gunung Ledang got snubbed BIG TIME, and the jury made it clear that they didn’t welcome a RM20m movie that tried to compete with other RM3m movies. And Mum said, “Forget the film industry. They don’t deserve your hard-earned money. Save the rest for your kids’ future.”
My Mummy was tough as nails, so I don’t blame her - she had a hard life, escaping by boat from Medan during the Malaysia-Indonesia confrontation in 1963. She became a widow at 39 and had to bring up 3 kids on a tiny salary. She had the highest tolerance for pain, and never moaned even once, through her 15-year ordeal with Cancer, until her very last breath in 2011.
And she would smile through every challenge. That smile, that covergirl smile 💜
You would have been 79 today, and there isn’t a day that passes when I don’t think of you and miss you being with me. Trust me Mum, your spirit lives on in every one of us you’ve left behind. And God has a smiley dancing angel in Heaven😇. I love you always and forever Mummy, rest in peace. And Happy Birthday!!!!

Here's another story for all of you... in honor and celebration of my late father and hero, whose happy-go-lucky, cheerful and humble personality was the highlight of my childhood. I was so lucky I got to live with him in the last year of his life, as the assistant manager of an oil palm estate in Teluk Anson. Living with him, I learned to ride the gardener Ayya's Raleigh bicycle twice my size, was best friends with Kumar, Storekeeper Maniam's son, and life was simple and beautiful. My Papa learned to speak Tamil so he could communicate with his workers effectively, lovingly and respectfully. And they LOVED him so much, they would cook the yummiest food for us almost every day. The evening my Papa had his second fatal heart attack, hundreds of estate workers were there at the Teluk Intan hospital to pay their respects.
And much respect and undying love for my beautiful and strong mother, who had to play both father and mother to us at such a young age with no help from anyone else. I used to wonder how she could afford to bring 3 kids up when she earned a tiny salary of RM1,200 as a secretary (this was in the mid 80s) "We don't need to ask anyone for help or for money. We may not have as much as other people have, but you and your siblings will never go hungry." Mom fought cancer stage 4 fiercely, refusing chemo for 15 years, outliving the doctor who gave her only 6 months - a true cancer warrior.
Happy Father's Day... I miss you both and wish you could be here to share my life, a few little achievements and my dreams today.
I'll always be so grateful to you both for being my inspiration and my drive to work hard, stay humble, stay strong, give my best and to be the best version of myself I could ever hope to be 💜
