Dear @johntorodecooks & #GreggWallace, I strongly suggest that you both search for “Malaysian rendang” on Youtube (and not Liverpudlian scouse) to properly digest how a Malaysian rendang dish should be cooked. Pay a very close attention though. After watching that, I’d love for Gregg to teach me how to make the chicken skin crispy by traditionally stewing it like so.🤔🤔 I’m certain that the legendary Delia Smith would kill to have a go at it, if you let her. Escoffier wouldn’t mind waking up from his grave to witness it....just out of boredom!
Just so you know, the level of spiciness in a dish is a matter of personal preference & tolerance, no? Had she made it any spicier, you both would’ve been gracefully inching to ‘kamar kecil’ (Google that since you seem all too familiar with Indonesia, John) while trying to withstand the tsunami in your gastro and control the ‘leakage’ streaming down your “tough & not really flavorsome” legs.
FYI John, “the really really soft chicken & fall apart” is called ‘lunyai’ here, in Indonesia, Singapore & Brunei, too. Perhaps you might want to Google that too...or not!🤪🤪 But then again, what can we mere mortals expect from the two blokes who grew up eating boiled beef, pickled eggs & deep fried potatoes with malt vinegar, right? Not only are you ignorant but pretentious, too! Just admit that you had very little or no idea about the dish. The lady would’ve been more than happy to share her knowledge & experience with you & the rest could’ve learnt a new thing, too. That’s all! But you chose to be pseudo-intellectuals & now have became the laughing stock.
The only “mistake on the side” was having you both on the show as judges, honey children! That has dented the show’s credibility to the max.
