Forgot how cute this ticket was! Found it today going through Japan bits and pieces to take photos for my Japan travel book. It's a ticket for the bridge to Fukuura Island in Matsushima (near Sendai). Should have recreated the pose really; at the time it was SO windy walking over the bridge - we definitely had windswept anime hair!! 😅 There's more of it in the "We found a secret beach" Matsushima video on my channel.

Matsushima is a seaside town in Tohoku, near Sendai. It's a beautiful bay with lots of islands and beautiful views. This is part 2 of my vlog - exploring Fukuurajima (Fukuura Island). Cross the 250m red bridge to explore walking trails, small shrines and beautiful views of the sea. Then we had lunch at the fish market, and went to Entsuin Temple, which is very picturesque.

Matsushima is one of the top 3 3 scenic views in Japan, with over 260 tiny islands. Take a look around Matsushima with me, and a boat trip around the bay.
Matsushima is a small seaside town in Japan, only half an hour on the train from Sendai. Sendai is about 1 hour 45 minutes from Tokyo on the shinkansen (bullet train), so it's quite easy to get to. It's known for seafood, and there are beautiful Japanese temples and shrines. In Matsushima bay there are hundreds of tiny islands. It's really picturesque! We took a cruise around the bay, and then went across the bridge to Godaido Temple. Next time we'll be exploring Fukuurijima Island and Entsuin Temple.

- If you're travelling to Japan, make sure to stop by Matsushima Bay, one of "Three Views of Japan." The name means "Pine Tree Island" and it's a collection of 260+ small islands covered in pine trees, which you can tour by boat. The associated Buddhist temple Zuigan-ji is also right across the street and is considered one of Japan's national treasures. It has an incredible series of caves built into the cliff side as well as a beautiful garden and quite a few incredible trees, so make sure to add it to your trip!
