#音樂故事：【The 1975】

「『Beat』不一定只可以解作潦倒，還可以代表音樂中的節拍，更可以是幸福或者歡欣。」
‧
美國作家Jack Kerouac如此宣稱。那時是1948年，二次大戰剛結束不久，戰爭和戰後復甦帶來的不安感，讓各種次文化逐漸形成。
‧
在美國年輕人之間，開始出現種種新文化，例如對精神世界和東方宗教的探索，他們反對物質主義，不斷嘗試各種迷幻藥物，奉行「大人」難以理解的生活模式，並不斷創作，革新美國文化、藝術、音樂和政治世界⋯⋯人們模仿Jack Kerouac，將這些五十年代的年輕人稱為「躁動一代（Beat Generation）」。

1957年，Jack Kerouac更寫成知名作品《在路上》（On The Road），讓他一舉成為了「躁動一代」的代言人。

「1 June, The 1975」，Jack Kerouac在《在路上》的書背上如此寫到，這一句也就成了樂團「The 1975」的名字來源。
‧
2002年，英國Wilmslow中學的鼓手Matthew和另外幾位同學組了一隊樂隊，玩些其他樂隊的Cover歌，參與些地區的青少年音樂演出，沒想到一玩便是十年以上，還要愈玩愈大......
‧
當初的鼓手Mathew在樂隊主音離開後，竟誤打誤撞地頂上了主音的位置，而他，就是今天我們認識的Matty Healy。
‧
「我完全做不出那種人人都愛的音樂，我也不太想。」Matty Healy曾說。
‧
喜歡Jack Kerouac和「躁動一代」文化的The 1975，以音樂讓千禧年代的我們重返五十年代......他們追求有別於主流的音樂和生活方式，不會盲目鼓吹世俗價值，而是鼓勵人尋找自己的真實。

「對我來說，寫歌就是要對自己真誠。」
‧
不想隱沒在人群裡，待自己真誠是最好的做法⋯⋯不必當人人都愛的模樣，真實的自己，就是最好的自己。
