เกมนี้ถือเป็นโปรเจกต์ที่ต่อยอดมาจาก Touken Ranbu -ONLINE- เกมมือถือที่มีกระแสโด่งดัง ว่าด้วยเรื่องราวของเหล่า “ดาบ” อันเลื่องชื่อในประวัติศาสตร์ญี่ปุ่น ที่มาอยู่ในรูปแบบของหนุ่มหล่อมากหน้าหลายตา และผู้เล่นจะได้จำลองการฝึกฝน รวมถึงลงสนามรบจริงในศึกต่าง ๆ ที่เกมกำหนดมาให้

ส่วน Touken Ranbu Warriors (หรือในชื่อญี่ปุ่นว่า Touken Ranbu Musou) เป็นผลงานของ Omega Force ผู้เชี่ยวชาญในเกมแนวมุโซฟันแหลก ซึ่งจะมาดัดแปลงเหล่าหนุ่ม ๆ ให้กลายเป็นนักรบ 3D ที่มีท่าทางแอ็กชันมากขึ้นกว่าเดิม โดยมีตัวละครเบื้องต้นอยู่ที่ 15 คนจากทั้งหมด 5 กลุ่ม ประกอบไปด้วย
