Is there anyone of you who also have to make changes on your travel plan? 🙈🙌
We were enjoying this beautiful beach in Belitung when we heard the news about the new policy regarding international arrivals in @australia that forced us to postpone our trip (which is only 8 days to go 😢).
For those of you who needed to cancel/change your travel plans, you can do what we did immediately after we heard the news:
CALL YOUR AIRLINES
They will usually ask if you would like to make a flight change or flight cancellation. Check if your ticket can be refundable, or if you can reschedule your flight with waived change fees (we did the later because the airline does not offer the former).
CALL YOUR ACCOMMODATION
And ask the same thing. Provider like @agoda and @bookingcom usually offers Pay Later or Pay at Property options, so it should be no problem if you cancelled before the due date. However, if you booked a non-refundable option, call the operator if the travel restrictions can impact in exceptions for the policy.
We were very happy to find that @airbnb offers no-charge cancellations (T&C applied) hence we got full refund that I can use for our future trip once the situation gets better. ♥️
CALL YOUR TOUR OPERATOR
If you travel to a country with a confirmed outbreak, check if you could cancel your trip and get a full refund. Refund policies are likely to change as the virus has now reached a pandemic status.
CALL YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY
Check if they will cover the change/cancellation fees that are not waived by the operators.
