Propelled by Gucci Creative Director Alessandro Michele’s meditations on society and reflections on eterotopia and curated by Myriam Ben Salah, the new exhibition ‘No Space, Just A Place’ is held at the Daelim Museum in Seoul—a location part of the Gucci Places network. The exhibit features independent art spaces where artists were invited to give their own definition of what an “other space” might be. Pictured here in the first image is the work of artist Sungsil Ryu—showcased by Boan 1942—exploring the notion of artificial paradises. Her installation ‘Psychedelic Nature’ focuses on secular superstitions and fictitious narratives that link human beings to nature. Image 2 features Hapjungjigu that presents the work of painter Jun Hyerim who unpacks through her three dimensional canvases the notion of Arcadia, with its interestingly ambivalent meaning in Korean—meaning both the “ideal land” and the “impossible to realize”. Tastehouse’s project ‘Tasteview Daelim Branch’ (seen in image 3, 4 and 5) reflects on the notion of value of art and how that value exists within a commercial space. Building an alternative commercial looking space within the museum, a ‘non-sale shop’, Tastehouse reconnects with the true value of the objects and the status of the viewer as a consumer. ‘No Space, Just a Place’ will run until July 12, 2020.

👀 A woman’s body always fascinates me for its spontaneity in each movement. As an artist, I love to study this immense possibility of my own body, and I’m too curious about how other artists depict #nude. An example would be how Sanyu (1901 – 1966), a painter who was widely regarded as the “Henri Matisse of China” “observes” women. The women in his paintings are well-rounded, confident but still delicate and feminine with each has her own charm. Perhaps this is because there are two seemingly opposite fine arts knowledge residing within him: one being Chinese calligraphy the other Western modernism, which he seems to be in control of. The style resembles that of modernist figurative paintings, yet the composition reminds viewers immediately of the landscape in Chinese calligraphy upon closer inspection. I think what makes Sanyu’s nudes stand out was because he observed women like a person marvelling a beautiful #landscape. As a result, his body-landscape paintings do not evoke any sensual feelings or dictate the meaning of #beauty.

Tattoo~feel~responsibility
Tattoo is an art of behaviourTattoo is a very serious decisionIf you want to have a tattoo on you then it is necessary to have the process of ???Tattoo.. you have to take the process of painYou not only have to face this but also to be determined about the tattoo and will never be regretted about it“Pain” is necessary but you have to face itDo not care how other people seeing you. It is how you treat and see youself.Doing anything is the decision of yours. Once it is done you are responsible for it.??? is the moment of treasure all because of the process does not matter how long it takes, you have to take the pain or suffer anything to possess it.A good tattooist will design a way or a style of you for you to reference. You come to me because of my works (different to every tattooist different style)Not because of my hands “my skill of tattooing” for what you want. The meaning of this completely destroyed. For example, if you like some painter then you will buy their painting and when you like some painters but do not buy their paintings.Just wanting what you wanted to be painted by the painterThere is no trends for tattooingFor every tattooists, they have different kind of level and thoughtsFor a good tattooist the quality is necessary, about price there will surely be some differencesBut here its does not matter at allI insist my thoughts. Because of my thoughts I do so.If I consider this as a right then it is doable.Having a tattoo there would be positive and negative comments but it is all up to you how to face itAs I mentioned before it is all your own responsibility. Long time ago having a tattoo is for the high level of people or loyalty. In Japan it was consider as a bad behaviour then it is then brought to the next few generation for this thought. For the olders, they are victims because that is the way they are taughtThey against tattoo because they are told to do so The tattoo full of bloods????Not everyone can achieve thisIt is for the people who have a determination and a heart full of faith to achieve itThat is why it is special and treasurableWe did it, can you?
Are you ready for this?
