STARFiSH agent is creating a new Taiwan sporting presence, combining the latest designs, style and fashion, and sports professionals’ spokespersons
Since the founding of STARFiSH Concept Public Relations over 17 years ago, our business has expanded to include a wide range of industries such as luxury goods, fashion, cosmetics, finance, automotive, alcohol and other high-end clients, creating our own unique presence in the industry, with strong roots in Taiwan and a well-established international reputation. In recent years, under the leadership of Managing Director June Yu, we have supported the AAI team to France for the 24h Le Mans for four consecutive years, as well as the Asian 24h Le Mans. In 2016 and 2017 we managed the CDIY and CSIJ-B equestrian events, the 2018-2019 Thai Equestrian Princess’ Cup, the 2018-2019 LONGINES Hong Kong Cup - where we supported the Taiwan Junior equestrians – and we also co-sponsored and partnered with AKA Thailand in 2017-2020, and co-hosted the Primal FC MMA Beach Competition in Phuket, Thailand, ensuring athletes gained exposure from the global and local Taiwan media. We created the new faces of international sports. We also created global media exposure in our international press conference for the wedding of the century between tennis table stars Hung-Chieh Chuang and Fukuhara Ai.
STARFiSH shares the competitive spirit of the world class athletes we represent as we work with them to and ensures that they reach the international stage. On October 3, 2019 STARFiSH launches its “Sports Stars” public relations business at a Global press conference at the Dynasty Club. Guests include diverse sports professionals, Managing Director June Yu, Celebrity MC Ken, and the global team of STARFiSH agents who will share these athletes’ personal success stories, as the firm creates a new face for Taiwan on the global sports stage.
This exclusive STARFiSH event hosts a diverse coterie of sports professionals including leading US UFC star and founder of AKA Thailand, Mike Swick, on his first ever trip to Taiwan, the godfather of racing, Jun San Chen, AAI racing star Betty Chen, Johnson Wu - the youngest Chinese to attain the Kendo rank of Hachida, modified Harley designer Winston Yeh, mother and daughter Wakesurfing Champion pair Kimberly Chen and her 12 year old Jocelyn Chan, the Chairman of Region Eight of the Fédération Équestre Internationale, Jack Huang, and the amazing septuagenarian yoga instructor, Gloria Chen. Sports is a global phenomenon, and STARFiSH is proud to represent leading international and Taiwan athletes. This press conference will serve to introduce the intense personal struggles and stories behind these champions’ successes and their path to professional achievement, and also show how STARFiSH will promote this array of talent to the world. Sports lovers will enjoy seeing a genuine Ferrari 488 GT3 racing car, a white horse from the Hannover Equestrian Club, 2018 Ducati Hypermotard Custom Street Tacker by Rough Crafts, and a full complement of competitive sporting goods on display, ensuring all guests can appreciate more about the respective sports.
June Yu, the Managing Director, notes that: “these athletes working with STARFiSH agent are not only close personal friends and life coaches, but I have learned from them the real athletic spirit, a strong sense of mission, as well as a desire to promote their success to the next generation , ensuring Taiwan’s sporting stars enjoy a place on the international stage where they can reveal Taiwan’s sporting prowess and power. At the same time, they have also encouraged and supported me in establishing the STARFiSH sports talent agency division, and I am pleased to enjoy their trust, as we hope to lead them to new pinnacles of sporting accomplishment at the international level.”
At the end of the press conference, STARFiSH agent Managing Director June Yu will appear together with the sports stars and a photoboard of their success stories. There will be opportunities for autographs and a group photo to officially launch the STARFiSH professional sports talent agency, demonstrating the STARFiSH professional approach and international reach, as the firm integrates sports with style and the arts, as STARFiSH leads these athletes to ever greater achievements!
UFC Star, Mike Swick will be posing for an Esquire magazine exclusive the day after the press conference, as well as attending the Taiwan fashion designers Stephane Dou and Changlee Yugin’s brand DOUCHANGLEE 2020 SS Fashion Show.
The godfather of Taiwan racing, Jun San Chen, remarked: “The racing profession is, at times, a somewhat closed-off sport, but after meeting STARFiSH and their professional publicity team, they have exposed racing to a greater audience. I hope to continue cooperating with STARFiSH into the future, as we develop our domestic racing sports. ”
The world’s youngest Chinese master Kendo Hachida, Johnson Wu, stated: “The path to Kendo is about training the hear; as one trains with the sword one develops human character, and the Kendo spirit ensures a strong devotion to patience and lasting values. By working with STARFiSH with its focus on sporting stars, I am sure we will witness a new athletic milestone.”
Jack Huang, Chairman of Region Eight of the Fédération Équestre Internationale explained: “One of the most rewarding and pleasing things in life is to enjoy a shared interest and activity with one’s family. So I am very happy that STARFiSH has afforded me this opportunity to share the equestrian sport with the public. Even though equestrian enjoys a reputation as the sport of Kings, it is also highly egalitarian. Equestrian is one of the few sports where men and women can compete together on an equal footing in the same events. It is also a sport where humans and animals interact with great sincerity, and it affords an excellent opportunity for close family bonds. Instead of describing equestrian as a sport, it might be more apt to describe it as a lifestyle.”
Kimberly Chen, a wakesurfing champion said: “After having competed in wakesurfing for three years now, I had never thought my interest would expose me to the world stage, but working with StarFish made me realize that if you really love a sport and are dedicated, it is possible to teach the public an appreciation of your favorite sports, and ignite the sparks of their interest, too”.
Winston Yeh, design champion for modified Harleys, notes: “If you want to try to be the best at something in Taiwan, the professional perspective that STARFiSH offers is perfect to resolve any challenges along the way”.
Gloria Chen, an amazing 70 plus yoga instructor explains:”STARFiSH has allowed me to reach a new peak in life, as I am able to explore diverse people, activities and things. I aspire to continue enjoying STARFiSH leadership to help senior citizens to engage in yoga, developing body and mind and enjoying the Lohas spirit everyday”.
Mike Swick, founder of AKA Thailand remarks how:“It has been an absolute pleasure working with June Yu and STARFiSH Concept the last 4 years. Her expertise is vast and her results speak for themselves. I look forward to a long and successful relationship with June and STARFiSH !”

After beating up on some of
the NBA's lightweights, the Philadelphia 76ers wilted down the
stretch against one of its heavyweights.
Bobby Jackson scored half of his 18 points in the fourth quarter
and Chris Webber came alive in the second half as the
Sacramento Kings posted a 107-99 victory over the 76ers, who had
a nine-game winning streak stopped.
It was the first loss since the All-Star break for Philadelphia,
which did much of its damage during its run against teams
looking at the NBA Lottery.
During their streak, the Sixers had a pair of wins over Chicago
and Cleveland, one against Memphis and another at Denver. Those
teams are a combined 116 games under the .500 mark.
On Monday, the Sixers hung tough against the league's third-best
team and held a 95-94 lead with 2:51 remaining following a
basket by Keith Van Horn.
But the Kings took over, outscoring the Sixers 13-4 the rest of
the way. Peja Stojakovic gave the Kings the lead for good at
the 2:36 mark with a jumper and, after a timeout, Doug Christie
had a steal and layup.
After Van Horn's basket, the Sixers had four empty trips in a
row. Eric Snow made an errant pass that Christie turned into
his layup, Snow missed two free throws and Van Horn had
turnovers on the next two possessions.
"I know myself, I had a big turnover and missed a couple of free
throws and that hurt us," Snow said. "They made baskets and
made the stops at the end. I thought we fought so long and had
a great opportunity at the end but that's what happens when you
play a great team like that."
"I think we made some mental mistakes, a couple of turnovers
that allowed them to get easy baskets, and they really got
momentum because of it," said Van Horn, who scored 17 points.
Stojakovic drilled another jumper with 1:19 remaining and Mike
Bibby made two free throws with 49 seconds to go, making it
102-95.
Webber scored 23 of his 29 points in the second half as the
Kings won for the sixth time in their last seven games. He also
added 10 rebounds.
"I really thought we did a nice job of staying with this game,"
Kings coach Rick Adelman said. "They are playing so well, and
Iverson was making shots, but we kept saying, `Don't give them
easy baskets.'" We gave them enough to hang around. In the end
we made some nice plays to open it up."
Vlade Divac also provided problems for the Sixers. The
Yugoslavian center finished with 17 points, 13 rebounds and
seven assists.
Allen Iverson scored 35 points and Snow added 15 and 13 assists
for Philadelphia, which fell 3 1/2 games behind first-place New
Jersey in the Atlantic Division.
"I don't feel good about our loss at all," said Iverson, who
went 13-of-23 from the floor. "I don't care anything about
moral victories. I'm too far along in my career to even care
about moral victories, especially if we have a chance to win the
game."
With Bibby plagued by foul trouble, Jackson was quiet for the
first three quarters before coming alive over the final 12
minutes.
After Webber's jumper provided a 85-83 lead with 7:25 to go,
Jackson converted a spectacular reverse layup and drilled a
3-pointer, giving the Kings a 90-83 lead.
It was still a seven-point game with 4:24 to play following a
hook by Webber, who played aggressively in the second half. The
star forward went 10-of-15 from the floor over the final two
quarters after going just 2-of-6 prior to the break.
"I wanted to be aggressive," Webber said. "We heard the murmurs
and that is kind of why you like to play on the road, 'cause
your supposed to miss on the road, but I just wanted to come out
in the second half and take the same shots and have them go
down."
"They made an effort to get him the ball down low and they
weren't doing that (in the first half)," Van Horn said. "He's
a tough guy to guard down there."
But the Sixers, who were playing for the third time in four
nights, would not go quietly. Iverson scored six straight
points, and Van Horn's basket gave the Sixers their last lead at
95-94.
Iverson and Snow clearly got the better of the backcourt matchup
with Bibby and Christie. The Sixers' duo held a 50-18
advantage in points and had a combined seven steals, including
five by Iverson.
Iverson's 19-footer with 8:46 left in the third quarter helped
the Sixers match their biggest lead at 64-57.

-- Kurt Thomas was so happy to be staying with the New York Knicks, he almost couldn't miss.
Thomas celebrated the passing of another uneventful trading deadline -- at least for him -- by scoring 21 points on 10-for-11 shooting to lead the New York Knicks past the Philadelphia 76ers 113-101 Thursday night.
"I haven't been moved yet, so I might end up finishing my career here," said Thomas, whose name was mentioned most frequently in pre-deadline trade speculation.
Thomas also grabbed 12 rebounds, and Tim Thomas shot 10-for-14 and scored 27 points for New York.
Philadelphia, which had only eight players in uniform -- none of them named Chris Webber -- was led by Allen Iverson's 29 points. Webber, acquired late Wednesday night from Sacramento, will make his Philadelphia debut Saturday against his old team, the Kings. He did not travel with the Sixers.
Stephon Marbury had 17 points and 12 assists, and Jamal Crawford added 16 points and nine assists for New York, which also was short-handed after trading Nazr Mohammed, Moochie Norris, Vin Baker and Jamison Brewer earlier in the day.
The Knicks outscored Philadelphia 32-22 in the fourth quarter to secure the win. Tim Thomas had 14 points in the final period, going 3-for-3 on 3-pointers, while Kurt Thomas had 12 on 6-for-6 shooting.
"If we play (power forward and center), it's going to be hell on people because we're such good shooters," Tim Thomas said. "It's going to force guys that aren't used to coming out of the paint to have to come out and try and contain us."
Philadelphia, which needed to have eight players in uniform, brought journeyman Jason Lawson to New York in case an extra body was necessary. But Rodney Rogers -- acquired from New Orleans earlier in the day in a three-player trade -- flew to New York aboard Hornets owner George Shinn's private jet and arrived at the arena less than an hour before tipoff, prompting the Sixers to send Lawson home.
Rogers scored just six points in 20 minutes, and he missed a 3-pointer and a layup on Philadelphia's first two possessions of the fourth quarter as the Knicks opened the period with an 8-0 run to take an 89-79 lead.
Philadelphia closed within five before Kurt Thomas hit a pair of corner jumpers, making him 9-for-10 from the field and giving the Knicks a nine-point lead with 6:30 left. Tim Thomas added three 3-pointers over the final 4:20.
"I don't care who is on our basketball team," 76ers coach Jim O'Brien said. "Our team has to make a decision, at some point and time, that we are going to pay the price and be a good defensive basketball team.
"You defend, you win. If you don't, you lose," O'Brien said.
Kurt Thomas started at center and is expected to man that position for the remainder of the regular season.
He spoke with Isiah Thomas on the telephone after the 3 p.m. trade deadline passed, and the Knicks' president reminded him he kept his word by not dealing him away.
"I hear (trade rumors) every year," Kurt Thomas said. "Wouldn't you be interested in what I do out there?"
Game notes
Five members of the International Olympic Committee's selection delegation, who finished a four-day inspection visit to New York earlier in the day, sat front and center on celebrity row -- the best seats in the house. One of the delegates held his hands out when the Knicks' dancers were throwing T-shirts into the stands during the fourth quarter, but he didn't get the freebie. ... Despite their shortage of big men and bodies, the Knicks did not use 7-foot-2 center Bruno Sundov.

Allen Iverson fought through jet lag, car sickness and pregame butterflies that felt more like birds before he finally got to play his first game for the Denver Nuggets.
When his debut with the depleted Nuggets was over Friday night, the feeling was familiar for the former 76er. Another crowd-pleasing performance, 22 points and 10 assists over 39 minutes, wasn't enough to prevent a loss -- 101-96 to the Sacramento Kings.
"I'm glad it's over," Iverson said. "That's the only thing I thought about, just getting the first one by me. I wish it could've ended with a win. I felt it could've ended with a win."
As it turned out, it was another former Philadelphia player, fifth-year guard John Salmons, who was the game's most valuable player. He finished with his first career triple-double -- 21 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists -- to lift the Kings to a satisfying win.
Rough weather in Denver put them in a travel bind, and they arrived at the Pepsi Center only 90 minutes before tipoff, or about the same time Iverson finally made it.
"We will never have a worse travel day than today," Kings coach Eric Musselman said. "Our energy and effort was phenomenal."
The Kings might go down as a trivia answer if Iverson's arrival in the blockbuster trade that sent Andre Miller and Joe Smith to Philadelphia takes the Nuggets where they hope it will.
In his debut, playing on a team with only eight healthy players, the newest Nugget gave the kind of gritty, gutty performance that has become his trademark.
He played 39 minutes after a whirlwind of a day in which he arrived in Denver in the late afternoon, was whisked to the Pepsi Center, passed his physical, took a few jumpers on the practice court then suited up to be on the floor for tipoff.
He spent the first 8:35 on the bench. When he finally came in, he received a standing ovation, and never left the floor.
This was widely considered the biggest trade in Denver sports history since the Broncos brought John Elway to town nearly 25 years ago. It's a trade many think could put the Nuggets -- who have long played second fiddle in this city -- into championship mode.
"They embraced me here," Iverson said of the welcome he received. "It was just a great feeling and it was a feeling I wanted to get. A feeling I hoped to get. It was special to me, something I'll remember and cherish the rest of my life."
During a stretch late in the third quarter, Iverson was at his tiptoeing, no-look-passing best, giving a preview of the difference he can make to this team.
He made a pair of 3-pointers, created an open 15-footer for himself and also had a sweet pass to Linas Kleiza as part of a big run that gave the Nuggets their first lead since early in the first quarter.
The highlight was a tiptoe down the baseline, followed by a no-look pass to Reggie Evans through traffic in the key for an easy bucket.
The game was tied at 87 with 3½ minutes left when the Kings started pulling away with six straight points on a pair of baskets by Salmons and a layup by Shareef Abdur-Rahim.
Iverson would have had 20 assists were it not for the struggles of his new teammates, many of them unused to the minutes they played and none of them accustomed to receiving the kind of passes Iverson throws.
"I was just playing basketball, taking what the defense gave me," Iverson said of the Kings, who played a lot of zone trying to stop Iverson. "When they crowded me, and I saw guys open, I made the right plays."
Iverson finished 9-for-15 and this was one of those rare games in which he may not have shot the ball enough.
Earl Boykins scored 25 points on an 8-for-23 night in which the Nuggets shot 37 percent as a team.
"It was a tough game," Nuggets coach George Karl said. "We really wanted to win it for AI and the team. The courage was good, the commitment was good. It was the little basketball frustrations that slowly built to a level that was difficult to overcome."
Certainly, things will change when Carmelo Anthony returns 13 games from now after serving out his suspension for his fight with the Knicks.
But as it currently stands, the Nuggets need everything from Iverson. They are also missing J.R. Smith -- also on suspension -- and learned that center Marcus Camby could be out a while because of a finger injury he suffered earlier this week.
