Opened in early August 2020, Être Patisserie has quickly become one of the trendiest spots for a relaxed afternoon tea. Housed in one of the bungalows at Canning Garden, the new kid in town appealed to cafe hoppers due to its clean, minimalist interior setting as well as its aesthetically pleasing range of food offering. It does not offer a main menu though... only a range of pastries, cakes and desserts. We were there late at 5 pm and many items were sold out, we did not get to choose much but only the Early Grey Pound Cake and Cinnamon Roll. The Pound Cake was alright- moist and soft with a bold Earl Grey aroma, Cinnamon Roll on the other hand, could be stronger in flavor. The Cinnamon factor was quite weak but the pastry skin was perfectly flaky and thin. Definitely a place worth putting on your to-visit list.

Being a fishing village, there is no shortage of seafood supplies at Tanjung Piandang... a short 20 minute drive away from Nibong Tebal, the south-most town of Penang state. It is one of the popular destinations to source for some fresh seafood (and of course to satiate the cravings). One of the few places to get really good and inexpensive seafood at Tanjung Piandang is Fifty Heng Kee Seafood Restaurant 50興記海鮮飯店, a well-established Chinese seafood restaurant that is known to almost everyone staying in the fishing village. The place offers a big Chinese menu, not only seafood dishes but the usual Chinese stir-fry dishes that you can find in most Chu-Char places in Penang. No frills and nothing overly showy, this place serves some of the freshest seafood supplies in the neighborhood and most importantly.... budget friendly. A place that you would not want to miss if you happen to visit Tanjung Piandang.

Ipoh starts really early when it comes to food and kopitiam is mostly where all hangout and information exchanges usually takes place. This particular dimsum place is prominently popular with their steam buns and you can tell that they are serious with their buns when the stacks of steam baskets continuously have steam rising through every open ridges!

The variation is an abundance of flavour profile and they pretty much have everything you can (and can't) think off when it comes to the fillings. To think that Chinese have been steaming these buns from as early as during the Song Dynasty, and that it is still pretty much consumed today in the same form just shows how they remained popular and satisfying in every aspect.

Chicken curry bao is pretty memorable :)

Ps:Look for this one in Bercham on the map the next time you visit Perak and search for New Paradise dimsum.

Qing Xin Ling Leisure & Culture Village is definitely one of the best place to relax with your gf/bf/ family and child.
