Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches are crazy delicious. Banh mi owns it reputation for having a delicate balance of sweet, savory, sour, spicy, warm, cold, and varying textures. For me, 2 main components to a banh mi must be:
1. Bread (of course) - the bread should be a light framework that holds the fillings in but doesn't scrape the roof of your mouth.
2. Pate - Banh mi without good pate and mayonnaise feels almost naked and incomplete. The pâté must be soft, spreadable and fresh all the time.
Then a combo of #banhmi and #coffee are all the thing I need for breakfast.

Their signature HACHI Toast Bread is the must buy item here. It tastes delicious eaten on its own, or with cold cuts, cheese, or as a toast topped with butter and jam.
Besides being a bakery, you can also enjoy an array of hot drinks, warm toasts and sandwiches prepared using their in-house breads.
When toasted, the HACHI Toast Bread's crust becomes crispy (not crunchy) while the center remains soft and delightfully chewy almost similar to mochi in texture. It also has a naturally light, sweet flavor that complements savory toppings and fillings 😋

In Indonesia, there are generally two types of martabak: 1) Sweet Martabak and 2) Savory Martabak (one with egg and meat).
This one here is a sweet martabak. During assembly, it looks a bit like a Chicago style deep dish pizza. Common fillings used in this Indonesian sweet treat are crushed peanuts, chocolate rice (or chocolate sprinkles), grated cheese, and condensed milk.
Murtabak or martabak, also mutabbaq (Arabic: مطبق) (Thai: มะตะบะ), is a stuffed pancake or pan-fried bread which is commonly found in Saudi Arabia (especially the Tihamah and the Hejaz regions), Yemen, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Thailand. Depending on the location, the name and ingredients can significantly vary. The name mutabbaq (or sometimes mutabbag) in Arabic means "folded".
In Indonesia, the Murtabak is one of the most popular street foods and is known as "martabak".
