China aspires to become a “great modern socialist country” in the new era by 2050. What does this mean for the world?
This was one of many questions I was asked at the DBS Asian Insights Conference in Shanghai this morning. We had a lively discussion on a spectrum of issues, from Singapore-China relations to developments in international affairs.
This year, DBS celebrates its 50th anniversary and 25 years of operations in China. They have done a lot of good work to promote connectivity and innovation in the region. The longstanding close partnership between Singapore and China has contributed to DBS’s success. Our extensive economic and trade links, built over years of friendship, have greatly benefited both local and Singaporean businesses. We can do much more to grow and prosper together.

It was a good visit to China but I’m happy to be back home after a busy week. 😄 – LHL
