So I know that KLIA2 was built with budget airlines in mind. It has been providing basic facilities compared with KLIA and making sure that people can actually afford to travel and have great experiences.
The only problem is that travellers sometimes have to walk over 20 minutes from the terminal's main entrance to flight gates which can be super tedious. So the fact that they think it’s okay to hike the airport tax is unfair. I have actually spoken to several of people, not just foreigners, but also Malaysians who live overseas. They told me that instead of coming home 4-6 times a year, they might plan on making the trip back now 2 times a year if that would be the case. The fact that the Passenger Service Charge (PSC) will be increased at klia2 is beyond sensible. I am sure that many young Malaysians, these added cost might dissuade them from traveling and for families it will definitely make their cost way higher. The authorities really need to think about imposing airfare hikes like this!
It’s literally clipping the wings of many who are enthusiastic travellers, and even I know I will feel it for myself! Really disappointed and upset in how this is going to effect my future travel plans and SO many others!!!
