#AppreciationPost
Represented Malaysia for 15 years, spent 14 years on the national team and half my life living in a hostels. But it has all come to an end. My career has been filled with lots of ups and downs. More downs than I would like but it was those down moments that made my ups so much sweeter.
It has been a dream come true to represent my country at every level of competition in the world. I got to race in different parts of the world, meet new competitors/friends, and win multiple medals while breaking multiple records along the way.
Juggling between school, training, family and friends wasn’t easy at all. But it became such a natural thing to me that I could close my eyes and do it all. That was my life. I wouldn’t trade anything in the world for what I’ve been through. Would I do it again? Definitely! Because this time I would know how to do things better so I can avoid failures.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has helped me along the way. (This is in no particular order)
1. MSN, ISN and ASUM for supporting all my travels, competitions, medical, nutrition, accommodation and everything under your roof.
2. SSBJ, Taylor’s University and the Ministry of Higher Education for supporting me in my education which lead me to graduating with a double degree in PR and marketing.
3. Teammates, friends from different sports and friends for always pushing me to do my best, supporting me, comforting me during my loses and celebrating my successes.
4. Paul Birmingham, Jeffrey Ho, and pass coaches for believing in me and screaming at me when I when I didn’t push hard enough in training.
5. Members of the media for writing or broadcasting about me.
6. Pass sponsors for believing in me and that I was worthy to represent your brand.
7. My family. Thank you for always being there for me no matter what!
It has been a great honour representing Malaysia and have had such great support throughout my career. Swimming has and always will be a part of me but it is time to move on to a new chapter of my life. Thank you for everything!!! ❤️
