Sarah Chang does martial arts, acting and also directing “Hot Kungfu Mom” now does podcasts, attracting fans

華裔武打女星張學仁（Sarah）與菲律賓籍的導演老公及2個女兒現定居台北，目前還斜槓經營Podcast當播客，以育兒話題打響名號。她演出的2部電影今年分別在美國洛杉磯上映，並在法國坎城影展電影市場展放映，吸引國際目光，堪稱是全方位的「功夫媽媽」

Taiwanese (Chinese) American martial artist and actress Sarah Chang currently lives in Taipei, Taiwan with her husband and two daughters. She also runs a podcast show which is famous for parenting.
Two of her recent films, one screening in Los Angeles and another film screening at the Marché du film de Cannes, attracting attention globally. She really is an all-around “Kungfu Momma!”

Asian superstar Jay Chou has been instrumental in the rise of Taiwanese band Nan Quan Mama, seeing something special in Devon Song, the only remaining member from the original line up and the man who is the soul of the band. Devon has won the hearts of millions of fans across the world, thrilling tens of thousands of Chinese admirers at the band’s recent shows. Nan Quan Mama touched down for the Australian leg of their tour in mid-april and Devon sat down with VISION for a chat about his latest passion: diving.黃金海岸海洋公園的門口，滴水的潛水蛙鞋插在肩上的背包裡， 剛剛潛完水的彈頭面露倦容，但仍以爽朗的笑感謝VISION雜誌的邀約。彈頭稱自己喜愛潛水，在拿到全球認可的潛水教練執照之前曾用掉了1500支氣瓶，到過帛琉、東帝汶等25個國家。
彈頭是臺灣藝人團體《南拳媽媽》的靈魂人物，該團體4月底在中國開完演唱會，讓數萬粉絲如癡如醉。亞洲巨星周杰倫對這個團體提攜有加，四月中來澳開演唱會時，彈頭被邀成為嘉賓。
VISION雜誌與周董在黃金海岸的交集，令熱愛大海的彈頭也成為本期的座上賓。
Devon Song met us at the entrance of Sea World on the Gold Coast, a pair of diving fins poking out of his backpack and his wet hair a clue to what he’d just been up to. Having just finished a dive, he was tired but still happy to do the interview. With a broad smile, he told us that he loves diving, visiting over 25 countries and going through 1,500 tanks of air in pursuit of his globally recognised diving instructor licence.
“I grew up by the seaside. As a child, I would go with my mum and auntie to catch fish and sell it at the market. I was captivated by the rich ocean life and I always knew it was something I wanted to explore.” As the sun set, Devon gestured at the water and said, “Once this crazy career exploded, the sea became my refuge and the only place where I could find peace.”
Many years of spending time among the mysteries of the oceans have given Devon a different perspective on life. “Over the past two years, I have been inspired by some amazing teachers. They’ve taken me to places where I’ve seen some incredible sights, such as the mass spawning aggregation of bump headed parrotfish and red snapper in Palau and the breathtaking biodiversity of the Komodo Islands. The highlight was swimming with the sand tiger shark, unique to the Ogasawara Islands near Tokyo. It’s a humbling experience when you understand how small and insignificant humans are in comparison to the majesty and vastness of the oceans.”
「我從小在海邊長大，時常跟著母親和阿姨到海中抓海鮮到市場變賣，那時，我認為海洋無邊無際的遼闊映射著生命無常，很值得探索」，夕陽西下，彈頭指著金燦斑斕的海平面，說道，「進入音樂圈之後，大海成了我沉澱心靈唯一的去處」。
多年的潛水，體驗了海洋的奧祕，彈頭對人生有著不同的見解，「近兩年，我認識了好幾位老師，跟著他們，我親眼見到了許多驚人的海洋生物，例如帛琉世界三大魚種紅鯛、海鯛、隆頭鸚哥的交配，科摩多群島的生物多樣性，日本東京小笠原群島的獨特鯊魚種類--- 沙虎鯊等。與壯闊的海洋相比人類是多麼渺小啊！」雖然身為藝人，彈頭相當謙遜，再三提起在潛水生涯中與多為老師結緣，在多位老師的帶領下，有了人生中許多寶貴的經驗，「希望有一天，我會跟著這些攝影老師一起拍一部富有教育性兼具娛樂性的電影」。
These experiences have kept Devon grounded and humble - he is always willing to learn more and is open to being taught by those with more experience of this amazing world. He once braved swimming with a giant hammerhead sharks to get some film for a movie and Devon wants to expand on this experience, saying, “I hope to one day follow these underwater photographers that I’ve worked with and to make an entertaining documentary about this beautiful world.”
Devon loves the diving opportunities that Australia has to offer. “Australia’s deep ocean is so beautiful! I’ve been diving all over the world and I’ve seen many beautiful places, but Australia is unique.” Let’s hope this love of our oceans means many more visits from this humble, soulful music star.

Flattening The Curve: Travelling more

曾經有段時間，台灣大力支持年輕人拍片。

問題是，我不是台灣人。

我沒理會，沒有東西能阻擋我。

我很想拍片跟人分享，想了解其他人如何看自己的作品和想法。

所以我不斷參賽。

甚至用假名參加，可以說是獲獎連連。

最需要是奬金，我要錢拍自己下一部作品，但卻沒有權利去領取。

主辦單位都被弄得糊里糊塗。這時一位朋友的朋友找上我，說要為即將開拍的一齣紀錄片自組班底。

這紀錄片小組有台灣攝影師兼製作人阮義忠、張照堂，他們二人都有「被受肯定」的作品，還有畫家兼詩人雷驤。然而最大膽的舉動，莫過於即使我不是台灣人，又是攝影初哥，對方依然邀請我參與拍攝《映像之旅》。

There was a fund at the time to support young Taiwanese film.

Problem was I wasn’t Taiwanese.

I didn’t care. That didn’t stop me.

I wanted to share the films, I wanted to learn how people responded to my work and ideas.

So I entered every competition there was.

I used fake names. But I kept winning prize after prize.

Money prizes that, as much as I actually needed the money to keep making more films, but I didn’t have the right to collect.

The authorities were confused but a friend of a friend knew and he was forming a team to make a new documentary series.

The team got together Taiwanese photographers / filmmakers Ruan Yi-zhong and Chang Chao-tang, famous for their "committed" work and the painter poet Lei Hsiang and then, very bravely I thought since I am not Taiwanese and I was only a beginner, invited me to join them for a series called "Travelling Images".

Penghu Island is Taiwan’s ultimate secret gem!

As the sunset on Penghu Island we travelled to some of the islands most scenic spots, these spots are a must for travel photographers and those looking to tour Taiwan nature.

We also got the chance to explore the hidden gem known as Dayi Temple found in Zhuwan Village. It is perhaps the most breathtaking temple I have ever seen and is truly a must visit if you are in Taiwan or Penghu. This temple holds a secret underneath with an insane system of Coral designed tunnels with two giant turtles.

We then had traditional Taiwanese food at the first Governor of Penghu’s House now converted into a delicious authentic eatery for Taiwanese dishes.

If you are looking for some great souvenirs to take back from Penghu for family and friends then make sure to check out Shin Tai Peng for great local Penghu snacks!

Penghu is a must travel location Taiwan, if you are looking for an adventure in Taiwan then I cannot think of a better place.

Full of natural beauty, hidden gems and unreal food, Penghu Island is a great travel destination in Taiwan.

從2007/02/28成立至今，Crescent Lament 恆月三途正式走過十個年頭。感謝一路陪伴的各個夥伴與聽眾，也感謝無數貴人的相助，我們幸運的在音樂的道路上，一直向前行。

身為台灣本土的樂團，我們想要將台灣的故事傳唱下去；在歷經2008年的兩張EP & 2011年的首張專輯 “Behind the Lethal Deceit / 末路之召”，我們逐漸摸索出明確的定位，以成為台語歌德/民謠金屬樂團為目標，並於2015年發行了第二張專輯 “花殤 / Elegy for the Blossoms”。在今年啟動的第三張專輯計畫中，我們將繼續以台灣歷史文化為主軸，唱阮台灣人的歌。

在歷經大大小小的表演後，我們在成軍的第十年 – 2016年，踏上了比利時音樂祭Metal Female Voices Fest的舞台。在這個歐洲的大舞台上，我們用台語歌唱著台灣藝妲的故事，用台灣藝妲的故事感動著不同文化的聽眾。是的，在滿場熱情的歐洲聽眾前，我們以身為台灣樂團感到無比光榮！

接下來，我們會繼續承接這個責任，繼續向前邁進。

Crescent Lament’s “10th Anniversary Documentary” is a visual review recording the most exciting moments we experienced in the past 10 years. Thanks to all friends and fans, without your support and encouragement, we wouldn’t be able to have so many beautiful memories.

As an indigenous band of Taiwan, our creations are greatly inspired by Taiwan’s history and culture, both musically and lyrically. After releasing 2 EPs in 2008 and debut album “Behind the Lethal Deceit” in 2011, we began to integrate traditional Taiwanese instruments with metal music. The result was “Elegy for the Blossoms” (2015), a conceptual album recounting the story of Taiwanese geisha in ancient Taiwan. Such a gothic/folk metal style will remain the principal theme in our future creations.

It is always a huge pleasure and honor to attend a gig or a festival. Through these domestic and foreign performances, we are deeply touched by the genuine enthusiasm from the audience. Here, we must show our immense gratitude to each organizers/staff of performance, cooperative band, photographer/videographer, and audience. Among those unforgettable performances we've attended, the Belgian festival "Metal Female Voices Fest" in October of 2016 is particularly worth mentioning. It was truly an amazing experience to play our Taiwanese-style songs on a famous European stage. We saw joy on people's faces, and were deeply flattered by their passions. It was a memorable milestone to celebrate the 10th year of Crescent Lament. Many thanks to Helcanen Val and everyone of MFVF to create this beautiful memory with us!

The journey of Crescent Lament will be continued.
