男人來到了四、五十歲,人生的道路走了一半,有說是幸福感最少的時候,因為隨着年紀漸長,體力下降,打波打到半場已虛脫,凌晨起身睇波都見吃力;髮際線後退,脂肪有增無減,容貌亦開始顯露歲月痕跡;事業上打拼多年壓力增加,家庭開銷亦有增無減⋯⋯壓力大到身心俱疲時,您有用以下的減壓方法嗎?
⚠️飲酒
輕則放工後小酌一杯,嚴重的甚至借酒消愁,適量及配合體質飲酒可和氣行血,但飲酒過量容易於體內聚濕、生痰、化熱,影響肝脾正常運作,要適可宜止。
⚠️吸煙
不少人因為壓力大而開始吸煙,覺得吸煙過程很紓壓,甚至能有助放鬆排便!其實是錯覺,吸煙過後壓力依然存在,更會對身體造成損害,得不償失。

中醫理論認為肝主情志,不良情緒會傷肝,肝功能失調會導致肝鬱,出現頭痛、多嘆氣、打嗝或放屁、胃痛、大便不調、失眠等症狀。所以減壓要疏肝,適量食用蓮藕、白蘿蔔、絲瓜、陳皮等疏肝理氣食材,或者飲用玫瑰花、茉莉花、佛手、洋甘菊茶有助氣血運行,進行運動也有助減壓。

Are these the best ways to relieve stress?
When men reach the age of 40 or 50, they are about halfway through their journey in life. As they grow older, they might start to feel a decrease in stamina and might not perform well in sports. They might even have a hard time staying up late to watch their favourite sports match.
Some might also troubled by their receding hairline, the accumulation of fats in their body, and changes in their facial appearance. To add fuel to the fire, stress at work and the rising cost of living can also take a toll on their mental health. Have you tried the following methods to cope with stress?
⚠️Drinking booze
While some might enjoy a glass of beer after work, some would resort to alcoholism to escape from the harsh reality they face daily. Consuming an appropriate amount of alcohol according to your body constitution can improve the circulation of qi and blood, but excessive drinking can cause heat and dampness to accumulate in the body, induce phlegm production, affect the functions of the liver and spleen. It is important to practice self-control when consuming alcohol.
⚠️Smoking
Many people might take a puff at a cigarette to de-stress, and some even think it can help them pass stool more easily. It is in fact just an illusion! Smoking will only cause damage to your body, and you will still feel stressed even after smoking.
⚠️Going on a shopping spree
Some men would go on a shopping spree to reduce their stress. The convenience of online shopping encourages us to make impulsive purchases of items we do not need. Shopping can be stress-relieving, but it could also cause further financial distress if we are not mindful of our spending.
⚠️Binge eating
It is common for us to eat to release stress, and we tend to opt for foods that are high in fats and calories. Binge eating can lead to obesity and an increase in our cholesterols in the long run.
⚠️Late-night gaming
Men may play games to reduce stress after work, and some might even pull an all-nighter. It then becomes difficult for them to focus on work the next morning. Staying up late to play games disrupts our biological clock in the long run. CheckCheckCin:中醫理論認為月經狀況與肝、脾、腎的健康有密切關係,肝腎陰虧、肝火偏亢、脾虛氣弱等原因都會導致月經過多,月經期間切忌進食補血活血功效的食材,例如益母草、山楂、田七、木耳、蓮藕、紅菜頭等,以免血崩情況加劇,亦要注意避免吃生冷及燥熱食物。生活有壓力、情緒鬱悶都會影響體內氣血不舒暢,導致經期狀況異常。每次月經過後宜好好調理身體,建議諮詢註冊中醫師對症下藥治理,如果有手腳冰冷、心悸、頭暈等伴隨症狀,月經前一星期可飲用有補氣、補肝腎的茶療調經。
桑寄生桑椹紅棗茶
功效:補氣養血,適合有手腳冰冷、心悸、頭暈等症狀的氣血虛弱型月經不適人士飲用。
材料:桑寄生15克、桑椹10克、去核紅棗3枚
做法:材料放保溫瓶,以熱開水沖洗一遍,注入熱開水焗15分鐘即可。
此茶能反覆沖泡至味淡,建議一星期飲用2-3天,月經前一星期飲用。

“My menstruation gives me a headache every month. Sometimes, it can last for almost 10 days! Whenever I sit down, I would feel blood gushing out of my body, and occasionally, it comes with jellylike blood clots. I have to visit the washroom once every two hours. I suffer from dizziness as well.”
CheckCheckCin: Chinese Medicine theories opine that an individual’s menstruation is closely associated with the health of the liver, spleen, and kidneys. Weakness in the liver and kidneys, the accumulated heat in the liver, and a weak spleen are among the causes of a high volume of menstrual blood.
During menstruation, avoid consuming ingredients that can nourish and invigorate the blood, like motherwort, hawthorn, Panax Notoginseng (‘tian qi’), fungus, lotus root, and beetroot to prevent menorrhagia. Also, avoid eating foods that are raw and cold, as well as those can cause heat to accumulate in the body.
Likewise, stress in life and feeling depressed and emotional can interrupt the circulation of the qi and blood, and can in turn affect menstruation. Remember to regulate the body after each menstrual cycle and consult registered and licensed Chinese medicine physicians for advice and treatment.
If individuals develop symptoms such as cold limbs, heart palpitations, and dizziness, do consume herbal tea that can replenish the qi, liver, and kidneys a week before menstruation.
Chinese taxillus herb tea with mulberry and red date
Effects: Replenishes and nourishes blood. Suitable for those with asthenic weak type of menstrual discomfort. Accompanying symptoms are cold limbs, heart palpitations, dizziness.
Ingredients: 15g Chinese taxillus herb, 10g mulberry, 3 seedless red dates
Preparation: Place all ingredients into thermos, rinse with hot water and add in hot water and steep for 15 minutes until aroma develops. This tea can be re-brewed until flavour weakens. For best results, drink consecutively for 2-3 days. Consume 1 week before menstruation.
